Sophie Dunlop is an artist and teacher. She paints at her studio in Port Adelaide and exhibits her work in SA currently at Annie's Lane Winery, Clare and previoulsly at the Hills Smith Gallery, Greenhill Galleries, Art Images. Sophie trained in Sydney at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW gaining a Master of Fine Art. She also studied extensively at the Julian Ashton Art School and privately with artists, her father the late Brian Dunlop and Francis Giacco.
Sophie is currently offering classes teaching fundamental drawing and painting principles at the Bridgewater Hall Saturday afternoons for teenagers and at Charlotte's Web, Marion on Wednesday nights for adult beginners.
Classes are structured and focus on technical skills, each lesson is designed to achieve clear outcomes and build a strong foundation in art. Lessons focus on tonal drawing, proportion, composition, perspective, colour. For more advanced students, projects are set as well as self-directed paintings.
